Community Service
The Gingerbread Village at the Sheraton Seattle - Annual JDRF Fundraiser For decades, the JDRF has been raising money to research cures and improve the lives of those affected by Type 1 Diabetes. Since 1993, the JDRF Northwest Chapter and the Sheraton Seattle Hotel have partnered on a beloved Seattle Holiday tradition, The Gingerbread Village, bringing together local architecture firms with the Sheraton Seattle's amazing culinary team to custom design, bake, and build awe-inspiring gingerbread displays.
4D Architects has had the privilege of participating in this event since 1999. Each year our principals, staff members and their families and friends, volunteer hundreds of hours to design and construct these elaborate gingerbread structures, while having lots of fun and making a contribution to this very worthwhile cause. We are proud to have been honored 4 times with the coveted People's Choice Award for our "Everyone is a Super Hero" city (2008), for our "Flinder Street Station" (2011), for our "Christmas in the Northwest" city (2014), and for our "Episode IV: A New Hope" (2015).
